What happens to Pro Clubs in EA FC 27?

Clubs did not go away — it moved inside a shared world, every Archetype is unlocked from the start, and one platform line decides whether your squad can play together at all.

FC 27 launch, with Clubs inside The Grounds

Early access from 18 September on the Ultimate editions. Clubs is no longer a menu item: it sits inside a shared world EA calls The Grounds.

Clubs did not go away. It moved.

Leagues and Playoffs return, and 11v11 is still 11v11. What changed is where you stand between matches: The Grounds is a persistent space holding up to 100 players across three districts, and Clubs is entered from inside it rather than from a menu. EA has added Club Tournaments alongside the league, with House Rules variants — Mystery Ball, Headers and Volleys, Survival, King of the Hill and others.

Every Archetype is unlocked from the start

In FC 26 an Archetype was something you worked toward. In FC 27 all of them are available immediately. The progression moved to a system EA calls Masteries: reaching level 10 with the Finisher Archetype grants +1 Finishing and +1 Composure to every Archetype you use afterwards, so time spent on one build pays into all of them.

That changes what an Archetype tier list is for. In FC 26 the pick was a commitment; in FC 27 it is a choice you can make every match, and the interesting question becomes which ones are worth levelling first.

PS4 and Xbox One do not get Clubs at all

This is the line most likely to affect a squad. EA states that The Grounds, including Clubs, is available only on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. FC 27 is still sold on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the original Switch — without the mode. A club with one member on an older console is a club that cannot field them.

What EA has not said

Nothing has been published about what carries over from FC 26 — not your club, not your record, not your Pro. Nothing has been published about cross-play between the four supported platforms either. Both are the questions squads ask first, and both are unanswered as of 11 August 2026 rather than answered quietly somewhere; if a site tells you otherwise, ask it where EA said so.

Everything above is from EA’s own FC 27 Pitch Notes and editions page. This page will be wrong the moment EA publishes more, and it carries the date it was last checked.

Questions people ask

When does EA FC 27 come out?
25 September 2026 worldwide, with up to seven days of early access from 18 September on the Ultimate and Ultimate Plus editions.
Is Pro Clubs in EA FC 27?
Yes. Clubs continues, with Leagues and Playoffs returning and Club Tournaments added, but it is entered from inside The Grounds — a shared world holding up to 100 players across three districts — rather than from a menu.
Can you play FC 27 Clubs on PS4 or Xbox One?
No. EA states The Grounds, including Clubs, is available only on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. FC 27 is still sold on the older consoles without the mode, so a squad with one member on an older console cannot field them.
Do you have to unlock Archetypes in FC 27?
No. All Archetypes are unlocked by default. Progression moved to Masteries: reaching level 10 with one Archetype grants permanent attribute bonuses to every Archetype you use afterwards — Finisher gives +1 Finishing and +1 Composure, for example.
Does your FC 26 club carry over to FC 27?
EA has not said. Nothing has been published about clubs, records or Virtual Pros carrying over, and nothing about cross-play between the four supported platforms. Both were still unanswered on 11 August 2026.

Measured from 111,194 players and 46,975 matches, kept since 17 September 2026. EA returns the last ten. Look up your own club and see where you land.
