What is different about FC 26 Pro Clubs on PS4 and Xbox One?
EA never published a list of what the older consoles miss. It tagged the features one by one instead, and five of the tags land on things you feel every game.
From EAUpdated 3 September 2026
None of them reach PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. All five are about how players move and defend.
EA never wrote the list, it wrote the tags
There is no page anywhere telling a PS4 owner what FC 26 leaves out. What exists is a tag, marked NG in the gameplay notes, sitting beside individual features and covering PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. Collect the tags and you have the answer.
The five you do not get
| Tagged new generation | What the old consoles run instead |
|---|---|
| Dynamic Dribbling | The previous dribbling model, with the old touch intervals |
| More Agility | No Explosive Sprint work, no retuned run styles |
| Acceleration Types | The old type list, so the height and agility rules do not apply |
| RL goalkeeper positioning | The previous keeper positioning behind the same shirt |
| Defending positioning | No close man marking in the box, old defensive line behaviour |
Read that column again. Movement, acceleration, keepers and defensive shape are four of the things a Pro Clubs player complains about most, and they are the four EA fenced off.
What arrives in full anyway
The whole Clubs progression is untagged. Archetypes, Attribute Points, Signature PlayStyles and Perks, Specializations, Consumables, Live Events, the eight new set piece assignments and the expanded Quick Chat all land on the older machines. So does the Competitive Gameplay lock, the removal of Timed Finishing, and the tackle personality thresholds that decide which stand tackle animations your Pro may play.
An old console is playing the same mode with the same build system. It is playing them on a different movement engine.
You will never feel it inside a match
EA files clubs into pools by console generation, so both sides in your game are running the same build of FC 26. Nobody is out-accelerating you because they bought a PS5.
The gap shows up between your league table and somebody else’s. Two clubs described by the same numbers played two different games to get them, and that is the harder kind of difference to notice.
Where this stops being certain
A tag marks what EA flagged as exclusive. No tag is a weaker statement than a promise of identical behaviour, and EA has published no note confirming that everything untagged performs the same on a PS4 as it does on a PS5.
Treat the five above as the confirmed floor of what is missing. Anything beyond it is a guess, including the guesses that sound confident.
New generation tags read from EA’s FC 26 Pitch Notes.
Questions people ask
- Is FC 26 Pro Clubs the same game on PS4 and Xbox One?
- Not underneath. EA tags five gameplay systems as new generation, covering PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. The older consoles run FC 26 Clubs with the previous version of each.
- Which FC 26 features are missing on PS4 and Xbox One?
- EA tags Dynamic Dribbling, the agility and run style work, the three Acceleration Types, reinforcement learning goalkeeper positioning, and the defending positioning changes as new generation. All five are movement or defending.
- Do you still get Archetypes on PS4?
- Yes. Nothing in the Clubs progression carries a new generation tag, so Archetypes, Attribute Points, Signature Perks, Specializations, Consumables, Live Events and the set piece assignments all arrive on the older consoles.
- Can PS4 players face PS5 players in Pro Clubs?
- No. EA files clubs into pools by console generation, so both clubs in your match are running the same build. The gap shows up between your league table and somebody else’s, which is the harder kind to notice.
- Does an untagged feature definitely work the same on old consoles?
- EA has not said so. The tags mark what is exclusive and no note lists what the older machines miss, so an untagged feature is one EA did not flag, which is weaker than a promise it behaves identically.
