How do the Playoffs work in FC 26 Pro Clubs?

You qualify from your division league, and the rewards from a run go to a single favourite club you pick yourself. Leave that setting wrong and a good season pays nothing.

From EAUpdated 29 August 2026

One club
collects the rewards from a playoff run

You can belong to three clubs in FC 26. Only the favourite you set on the Switch Clubs screen is paid for a Playoffs run, and the setting has to be right before the season ends.

Playoffs sit on top of the league

EA describes the Clubs competitive year in one sentence: climb Divisions, qualify for Playoffs, battle for promotion. The Playoffs are the end of the division league you are already playing, so there is nothing separate to enter, queue for or pay into.

If you have been hunting for a Playoffs tab, stop. Play the league and the qualification takes care of itself.

The setting that decides whether a run pays

This is the part that costs clubs a season. EA says Clubs Rush and Clubs Playoffs rewards are earned on behalf of a single favourite club, which you choose on the Switch Clubs screen, and that you have to have it set to the club you want before rewards are distributed at the end of the season.

Three clubs, one payout. Play a Playoffs run with your second club while your favourite is still pointed at the first, and the run counts for the club you were not playing for. You can move the favourite at any point during the season, so the fix takes about ten seconds and nobody does it until it is too late.

Open the Switch Clubs screen tonight and look at which club is marked as your favourite. Do it before the last week of a season, when the screen is the only thing standing between your club and its rewards.

What a Playoff match pays you

Every Clubs match pays Archetype XP from two sources: your Role Rating, which is most of it, and a smaller amount for the actions you complete. EA then says the amount both pay depends on the match type, and lists Clubs League, Playoffs, Friendly, Drop-In, Clubs Rush and Live Event as the six.

What EA has never done is publish the multipliers behind that sentence. So a page telling you a playoff win is worth some exact percentage more than a league win has invented the number. The direction is knowable and the size is not.

An AXP Multiplier consumable does work here. EA says multipliers apply across every Clubs mode, Playoffs included, and that only one can be active at a time, so activating a second throws away the first. Save them for a night you know you are playing several games rather than burning one on a single match.

Your playoff run has ten matches of memory

EA answers match history ten games deep per fixture type, and ignores every attempt to page back further. Playoff matches are their own type, so your last ten playoff games are the whole record EA will ever hand out.

The eleventh one back is gone. No repair pass can recover it, because there is no endpoint that serves it, which is why this site archives what it fetches the moment it arrives. If a playoff night matters to you, look it up while it is still inside that window.

What EA has not published

How many rounds a Playoff runs to. How the bracket is seeded. How many points hold a division or win promotion, and when a season resets. None of it appears in EA’s own Clubs notes, and the accounts you can find disagree with each other and often describe an older edition of the game.

The honest answer to most playoff questions is that the menu in front of you knows and the internet is guessing. When EA publishes it, this page will say so.

Questions people ask

How do you qualify for the Playoffs in FC 26 Clubs?
By climbing your division in the Clubs League. EA puts it in one line: climb Divisions, qualify for Playoffs, battle for promotion. There is no separate ladder to enter and no entry fee to pay.
Do you earn Playoffs rewards at every club you play for?
No. EA says Clubs Rush and Clubs Playoffs rewards are earned for one favourite club, chosen on the Switch Clubs screen, and that it has to be set to the club you want before rewards go out at the end of the season.
Do Playoff matches pay more Archetype XP?
They pay differently. EA lists match type among the things that change your AXP, and names Clubs League, Playoffs, Friendly, Drop-In, Clubs Rush and Live Event as the types. How much each one pays has never been published.
Can you use an AXP Multiplier in the Playoffs?
Yes. EA says multipliers apply across every Clubs mode, Playoffs included, and that only one can be active at a time. Starting a second replaces the first, so a stack of them is worth nothing.
How many rounds are in a Clubs Playoff?
EA has not published it. The Clubs notes describe qualification and promotion and stop, so any bracket you have been shown came from somewhere other than EA and may be describing an older edition.
Why did my playoff run vanish from a stats site?
EA serves ten matches per fixture type and ignores every paging parameter. Playoff games are their own type, so the eleventh one back is gone for good unless something archived it while it still sat in that window.

Measured from 109,638 players and 45,761 matches, kept since 17 September 2026. EA returns the last ten. Look up your own club and see where you land.
