Can you play a Clubs Rush Live Event with your friends?

A Live Event looks like a squad queue and is scored like a solo run. The difference is what stops four friends getting into the same match.

From EAUpdated 3 September 2026

Same round
the condition on getting into one match together

Live Event progress belongs to a player, and matchmaking pairs everybody at the same tournament stage.

Getting in

The Live Events tab in the Play menu lists what is running and what is coming. Pick an available event, go through to the lobby, and from there you either invite friends or search on your own.

It looks exactly like queuing a Clubs match with your mates. The scoring underneath is a different shape, and that is what catches people out.

Your run is yours alone

EA says event progress is tracked individually and not as a squad. Matchmaking then pairs you with teammates and opponents at the same tournament stage, so everybody in your match has as much to lose as you do.

Which means a friend who has won three rounds is queuing in a different pool from a friend who has won none. They cannot carry you. They cannot even reach you.

Somebody has to give up their progress

There is a way back together and it costs. EA says a player in a later round can reset their progress from inside the Live Event lobby to compete alongside their lobbymates, and that doing so loses a tournament attempt.

Work out who resets before anybody queues. The person furthest ahead pays for the group, and attempts are the only currency an event has: run out of them and you are eliminated until the event restores them, if it restores them at all.

Two humans will do

A short squad is survivable. EA says each Live Event tries to find a full team of outfield players first, and that a side of two human players minimum can go ahead with AI filling the open spots when it cannot.

So a pair on a Tuesday night is a valid entry, and you do not need to round up five people to attempt a tournament.

The gates on the door

Each event sets its own entry requirements. EA names three kinds: a Clubs Rush player rank you have to reach, a predefined level on your selected Archetype, or one specific Archetype you have to be using.

Read that before your group agrees on an event. A build sitting at level 12 is a perfectly good build and it is also the reason the lobby turns one of you away, which is a worse conversation to have at nine o’clock than at eight.

No clock between rounds, one on the event

EA says there is no time limit on starting your next match, so you can sit in the lobby and edit your Archetype between rounds with a new batch of teammates waiting on the other side. Each event does expire eventually.

Some events are chained. Winning the first unlocks a higher tier one later in the season, and EA says some of those open a redemption stage that gives a second route in for anybody who missed the opening.

Questions people ask

Can you enter a Live Event with your friends?
Only if you are all on the same tournament round. EA says matchmaking pairs you with teammates and opponents at the same stage, so a friend two rounds ahead is queuing into a different pool from yours.
What does resetting your Live Event progress cost?
One tournament attempt. EA says a player further along can reset from inside the Live Event lobby to play alongside their friends, and that doing so loses an attempt. The person ahead pays for the group getting back together.
How many people do you need to start a Live Event match?
Two humans. EA says each event tries to find a full squad of outfield players first, and that a team of two human players minimum can go ahead with AI filling the open spots when a full squad cannot be found.
What can a Live Event require before it lets you in?
EA names three gates: a Clubs Rush player rank, a set level on your chosen Archetype, or one specific Archetype. Each event carries its own, so the build sitting at level 12 can be the reason a lobby will not take you.
Do you have to start the next round straight away?
No. EA says there is no time limit on starting your next match, so you can edit your Archetype between rounds. Each event expires eventually, which is the only clock on it.
What is a multi-stage Live Event?
Two events chained together. EA says winning the first unlocks a higher-tier event later in the season, and that some of them open a redemption stage giving a second route in for anybody who missed the first.
