How many tackles per game is good in Pro Clubs?

Every guide has a target for goals and none has one for the work that stops them. This is the defensive half of the game, measured — and why a high tackle count is not always good.

One number cannot answer this

Tackling is the only major stat where the position you play changes the target more than your ability does. A defender and a forward are not doing the same job, are not near the ball at the same moments, and cannot be judged against the same figure. Measured here, the median defender makes 1.16 tackles per 90 and the median forward 1.01.

A high tackle count is not automatically good

EA counts a tackle when you win the ball. It does not count the times you dived in and missed, and it has no idea whether the tackle was needed. A midfielder making six a game may be covering for a defence that keeps losing the ball, and the same six on a team that keeps the ball would be impossible.

Read it beside possession-side numbers rather than alone. A player high on tackles and low on pass completion is usually chasing the game, not controlling it.

What EA does not record

There is no interception count, no clearance count, no blocks, no duels won as a season total, and no distance covered. Defensive work in Pro Clubs is measured by tackles and by what your team conceded, and nothing else exists to measure it with.

Questions people ask

How many tackles per game is good in Pro Clubs?
It depends on where you play, more than on how good you are. Measured here, the median defender makes 1.16 tackles per 90 and the median forward 1.01. Across everybody the median is 1.16.
Is a high tackle count always good?
No. EA counts a tackle when you win the ball, not whether it was needed. A midfielder making six a game is often covering for a team that keeps losing the ball — the same six would be impossible in a side that keeps it. Read it beside pass completion, not alone.
Does Pro Clubs track interceptions or clearances?
EA publishes no interception count, no clearances, no blocks and no season total for duels won. The per-match event ids do carry interceptions, though, and we decode them — so this site can rank the one defensive act EA never reports. Clearances and blocks are genuinely absent and no amount of decoding brings them back.
