How do Attribute Points work in FC 26 Pro Clubs?

Spreading points evenly feels safe and is the expensive way to build. The cost curve punishes it, and the four cheap attributes are different on every Archetype.

50
the Archetype level cap at launch, and EA says it rises in season

Every level gives Attribute Points. The cost of raising an attribute climbs as it rises, so where you spend early decides far more than it looks like it does.

How the points arrive

Each Archetype levels from 1 to 50 on its own. Levelling gives you Attribute Points, and you spend them on any attribute you like from the Edit Attributes screen. Nothing forces you to build the player EA had in mind when they designed the build.

The level belongs to the Archetype rather than to you. Switch build and you are at whatever level that one has reached, which for most people is one. EA has also said the maximum level goes up as the season runs, so 50 is where it starts rather than where it ends.

The cost curve is the whole game

As an attribute goes up, the AP cost of the next upgrade goes up with it. That single rule decides what a good build looks like. Taking one attribute from high to very high costs more than lifting several from low to respectable, and the gap widens the further you push.

Which does not mean spread everything evenly. It means know the two or three attributes you genuinely need at the top end, accept the premium there, and stop paying it in five places at once. A build with three excellent attributes and some ordinary ones beats a build that is uniformly decent, because football asks you to do a few things repeatedly rather than everything occasionally.

The practical version: decide what your first two hundred points are for before you spend any of them. Points spent early are the cheap ones, and putting them somewhere you later abandon is the most expensive mistake the screen allows.

Four attributes cost less than the rest

Every Archetype has four Key Attributes that are cheaper to upgrade. This is EA telling you what the build is for, in the only language that costs you something to ignore.

Building against them is allowed and it is not free. You are paying a premium to make a build worse at the thing it was shaped for, and the points spent doing it are points not spent on the thing it is already good at. Twice the cost for half the return is a bad trade in any direction.

If your plan needs four attributes that are all expensive on this Archetype, the honest conclusion is that you picked the wrong Archetype rather than the wrong attributes.

Attributes are also gates

Points do more than raise numbers. PlayStyles unlock on attribute thresholds, and Specializations do the same. So a decision that looks like tuning is often a decision about what you will be allowed to equip later.

Dead Ball is the example EA published: FK Accuracy at 75, Crossing at 80 and Shot Power at 80, all met at once. Two of those might be on your route already. The third is the real bill, and it is worth reading before you commit rather than after.

Points are not permanent

An Archetype Reset hands back every point you have spent so you can place them again. That changes how carefully you need to plan. A build you regret costs a reset rather than a season, so trying something is cheaper than agonising over it for a fortnight.

It is not free, though. Resets go through Clubs Coins or a consumable, so treat them as available rather than unlimited and use one on a decision you have actually thought about.

Questions people ask

What is the maximum level in FC 26 Clubs?
Level 50 at launch, and each Archetype is levelled separately from 1 up to it. Switching build does not carry your level across.
How do you get Attribute Points?
By levelling the Archetype. Each level up gives AP, and you spend them on any attribute you like from the Edit Attributes screen.
Why does upgrading an attribute keep getting more expensive?
The AP cost rises as the attribute rises. Taking one stat from high to very high costs far more than lifting three from low to middling.
What are Key Attributes?
Four attributes on each Archetype that cost less AP to upgrade. They are EA telling you what that build is for, and building against them is paying a premium to be worse at the job.
