Does height and weight matter in FC 26 Pro Clubs?

The advice you have been given about this is mostly invented. What EA has actually said is narrower and duller than the videos, and it is worth knowing before you rebuild.

From EAUpdated 21 August 2026

A range, not a slider
what each Archetype gives you

Height and weight move inside limits your Archetype sets, they change a small number of attributes by a small amount, and the effect only lands once you enter a match.

You do not have a free choice

Each Archetype comes with its own range for height and weight. What is available depends on the build you picked, so the perfect measurements from a video may not exist on your player at all.

That alone kills most of the advice on this subject. A number quoted without naming the Archetype it belongs to is a number that may be out of range for yours, and almost none of the videos name the Archetype.

What it actually changes

EA describes a minor impact on a select few attributes. Not a rebuild, not a hidden stat page, not the lever it gets sold as. A nudge, inside a range, on a handful of things.

Compare that with what Attribute Points do. A single point of AP moves an attribute you chose, by an amount you can see, permanently. Height and weight move a few attributes you did not choose, by an amount EA calls minor. One of those is worth an evening of thought and it is not this one.

It applies in the match, not on the screen

The adjustment lands when you enter a match in any Clubs mode. EA compares it to how a Club Facilities boost works, and that comparison is the most useful thing in the whole explanation: it is applied to you at kickoff rather than baked into the card you are looking at.

Facilities work the same way and are worth understanding alongside this, because your club now splits its budget between Player Facilities and AI Facilities. Both arrive at kickoff. Neither shows up on the build screen you are comparing.

So comparing two builds on the build screen will not show you this difference at all. If you are trying to feel it, you have to play, and you have to play enough games that one good night does not read as proof.

What nobody can tell you

EA has not published which attributes move, or by how much, for any Archetype. Every exact recommendation you have been given was assembled from the same screens you can open, plus a confident tone. Some of it may be right. None of it is checkable, and the people writing it rarely say so.

The tell is specificity without a source. A guide that says taller players win more headers is describing football. A guide that gives you a height in centimetres and a number of points is describing something EA has not published.

What to do instead

Pick the Archetype that suits how you play, because that decides your Key Attributes, your Signature PlayStyle and which Specializations are in reach. Those are the choices with weight behind them.

Then set height and weight where the player looks and feels right to you, and stop. The difference between two players on the same Archetype lives in Attribute Points, in which PlayStyles they unlocked and in whether their perks ever trigger. It does not live here.

Questions people ask

Can you pick any height in FC 26 Clubs?
No. Each Archetype carries its own range for height and weight, so what is available depends on the build you picked.
How much do height and weight change your player?
EA describes a minor impact on a select few attributes. It is a nudge inside a range, not the hidden lever it is usually sold as.
When does the height and weight effect apply?
When you enter a match in any Clubs mode. EA compares it to how a Club Facilities boost works, so the build screen is not where you see it.
Is there a best height and weight for a striker?
Not one EA has published. Anybody giving you exact numbers is reading the same screen you can and filling in the rest.
